These two terms are often used interchangeably. What do they actually mean, and more specifically which service would you choose?
Counselling is often shorter term and involves supporting you in the here and now with whatever is going on for you, equipping you with the tools and strategies to move forward with your life.
Psychotherapy is considered to be long-term or open-ended leading to a deeper exploration of your patterns of relating to the past and bringing that into your present awareness.
Counselling and Psychotherapy may overlap but the relationship between client and therapist is key. Rest assured, at Wings to Fly, you will always be offered compassion, support and understanding. We will be championing you on your journey towards self-healing and change through acceptance, personal growth, and increased self-confidence in yourself.
Relaxation Techniques
Relaxing our minds and bodies, slows down our heart rate, reduces blood pressure and relieves tension. These physical benefits in turn reduce our feelings of stress and give us a feeling of calm and peace of mind. We are then better able to focus on and truly enjoy our lives.
Mental fitness as a daily practice is just one of the ways we can help you achieve pockets of peace and calm in your day. Through a selection of breathing and relaxation techniques, we will guide you towards becoming a more relaxed you.
Autism Mentoring
Neurodiversity brings many strengths as well as challenges. Often, the strengths are forgotten about amongst focusing on what isn’t working and this can feel quite overwhelming. My way of working builds on a strengths based model, finding what works for you in your life whilst also collaboratively working on strategies to help you express your needs confidently, promote your wellbeing and learn helpful coping strategies and ways to manage difficult emotions. In addition to this, mentoring can help you with any relationship difficulties you may be experiencing, either with a partner, friends or work colleagues.
